The Departments of Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) are pleased to announce the availability of ten summer fellowships sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program.
West Virginia Nano REU
West Virginia University offer a unique summer research experience for undergraduate students in the science, engineering, or mathematics disciplines. The program is funded by the National Science Foundation and WVNano, the West Virginia state initiative for nanoscience and nanotechnology research.
UTK REU
The Department of Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is hosting a summer Research Experience for Undergraduates with the theme of “Sensing and Signaling.” It is open to current sophomores and juniors, and priority given to juniores. The program runs from from June 6 through July 29, 2011. This comes with a $3200 stipend for the summer, and housing on campus (which you would not need I suppose).

REU at Institute for Cellular Engineering
The Institute for Cellular Engineering (ICE) hosts a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) for US citizens or permanent residents interested in pursuing graduate studies in bioengineering or biological sciences.
Program Information
The aim of this program is to provide research experiences for undergraduate students majoring in the sciences with an introduction to cutting edge research in the broad area of “Sensing and Signaling”. The team of REU investigators represents a multidisciplinary ensemble of Cell Biologists, Geneticists, Biochemists, and Biophysicists who are taking modern approaches to the analysis of how signals are perceived and transduced in myriad biological systems.
