MedImmune R&D Associate

The candidate will be a member of a team responsible for developing and optimizing mammalian cell culture processes for the production of recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, routine sub-culture of suspension cells using aseptic technique, sample analysis, developing optimized and robust seed train and bioreactor processes, media and feed development, and troubleshooting and maintaining lab equipment and areas. The candidate should maintain current knowledge of scientific literature and keep detailed and accurate records of experimental activities. The candidate will be expected to design and analyze experiments as well as present data at internal meetings and, as appropriate, at external venues.

The internship is for a period of 5-6 months. The internship will involve the following responsibilities: Perform mammalian cell culture based experiments aimed at improving the process for higher productivity, stability, and robustness. Evaluate a High-Throughput reactor system. Prepare final report and present it in a departmental meeting.
