Tenure-Track Position in Bioengineering at Caltech

Overview

The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) is looking for applications for one tenure-track faculty position in the general area of biological engineering. Bioengineering research at Caltech focuses on the application of engineering principles to the design, analysis, construction, and manipulation of biological systems, and on the discovery and application of new engineering principles inspired by the properties of biological systems. Applications are invited in any area of bioengineering research. Candidates with strong commitments to research and teaching excellence are encouraged to apply. The appointment will most likely be at the assistant professor level, but consideration will be given to exceptionally well-qualified applicants at the associate and full professor levels. Initial appointments at the assistant professor level are for four years, and are contingent upon completion of the Ph.D. degree.

Bioengineering Career Panel

The Bioengineering Career Panel is Thursday, March 4 from 6-8pm in CSEB B17.

The panel will discuss career paths in bioengineering, medical devices, and biotechnology.  Alumni and other professionals from a variety of biotechnology and medical device companies will be on hand to discuss their career paths and answer questions.  After the panel, there will be an informal networking event with light refreshments.  Panelists include professionals from Synthes Spine, BD, Human Genome Sciences, and BrainScope, Inc.  Co-sponsored by the Career Center and the Whiting School of Engineering Office of Development and Alumni Relations.

BAE Systems - Cell Culture

BAE Systems is seeking an upper level undergraduate or graduate student for immediate short term assistance in cell culture.

A successful applicant will be a current student in Bioengineering or related field with laboratory experience in cell culture techniques and methodologies.

US citizenship is preferred, US residency is required. Salary is negotiable. Initial work will be conducted in a JHU laboratory in affiliation with the Johns Hopkins Institute for NanoBioTechnology, with a possible summer internship, or longer, at the BAE laboratory facility located in the Steiff Building (Whiting School of Engineering).
