We are rapidly expanding our technology team and are seeking a talented Process Development Engineer who can successfully bridge and innovate across the different disciplines of engineering, biology, chemistry, and mathematics. You must be able to rapidly learn new technologies, be a self-starter, take initiative to apply your skills to complex research problems, and innovate solutions for real-world problems. An intense passion for learning and expanding your skills and knowledge is essential for you to be part of our team.  In this position, you will get the chance to see how “theory meets practice” by using your skills in process development and engineering to fabricate novel nano-scale biosensors. Working with the Research, Engineering, and Manufacturing Teams, you will translate ideas into reality and provide valuable feedback to the designers on how to improve these sensor systems based on practical constraints.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Fabricate next-generation nano-scale biosensors.
• Operate, maintain, and optimize prototype automated manufacturing equipment, including pneumatic, PLC-based electromechanical, and liquid-handling.
• Characterize and analyze performance of manufacturing processes in fabricating biosensors.
• Evaluate performance of biosensors with hands-on experimentation.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Technical Requirements:
o Associates or BS in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field.
o 1-3 years experience operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
o Strong analytical skills, including metrology, mathematics and Excel.
• General Requirements:
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to present findings to peers and management.
o Ability to work both independently with minimal direction and as a team player in a flexible and interdisciplinary environment.
o Eagerness to challenge yourself to learn new technologies in a fast-paced research and product-development environment.
• Preferred:
o Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
o 1-3 years commercial experience with wet chemistry experimentation.
o 1-3 years experience designing and fabricating fixtures. o General programming skills (PLC, C/C++, etc). o Knowledge of electrochemistry.
