Program Overview
The NSF Engineering Research Center for Biorenewable Chemicals (CbiRC), at Iowa State University, is offering up to fifteen spots for students to participate in a paid research internship in the lab of a CBiRC faculty affiliate on the campus of Iowa State University or one of their partner universities: University of California-Irvine, University of Michigan, University of New Mexico, Rice University, and University of Wisconsin-Madison. Participants will also attend a variety of professional, scientific, and social program events with your peers.
This REU program provides opportunities for summer research experience in the following areas: biocatalysts for pathway engineering, microbial metabolic engineering, and chemical catalyst design. Program participants will receive a generous stipend, free campus housing and meal plan. Program dates for the 2010 summer program are June 2 – August 6, 2010. The application deadline is March 1, 2010.
