Career Fair

The Career Fair is this Thursday, 10/1, at the Rec Center from 11 am- 3 pm.  There will be over 115 companies there, including:

Accenture, Chemonics International, Health & Human Services Biomedical Advanced Research & Development Authority, Department of Energy, EPA, Food & Drug Administration, NIH, Oak Ridge Institute for Science & Education, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Sapient, US Patent & Trademark Office…and many more!

Also the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) will be conducing a workshop, “How to Find and Apply for Federal Jobs” at 2:30 pm in the classroom off the cardio room at the Rec Center.  This workshop will give students a primer on apply for federal jobs.

FDA Consumer Safety Officers, Interdisciplinary Scientists

The FDA is interviewing on campus next Tuesday, Oct. 6, and the resume submission deadline is this Thursday, Oct. 1.  They are seeking MS/PhD candidates, as well as BS candidates with significant experience.   Students should apply through their J-Connect accounts (ID 12871) and speak with the FDA at Career Fair if they have any questions.  The position will be in the new White Oak campus in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals

Program Overview

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals is a full-year work-study scholarship program with a strong focus on cultural exchange. CBYX annually provides 75 young Americans with an understanding of everyday life, education, and professional training in Germany. The program begins in July and includes two months of intensive German language training in Germany (no prior German language knowledge required), four months of classroom instruction at a German university or college of applied sciences, and a five-month internship in a participant’s career field.
